Yves Rhaye 1972 Ceramic Sculpture

Yves Rhaye was a Belgian sculpture and painter. His works show futuristic shapes and are based on human and animal like figures. Nature was the biggest inspiration for Rhaye, with his works he wanted to recall questions and mysteries to the viewer. His works have been shipped worldwide and can be found in musea or private collections. This sculpture dates from the mid sixties and is untitled. It is made of Chamotte, a clay that has a high percentage of alumina. This material gives the sculpture an extra texture which fits perfectly with Rhaye acutes designs and ideology. The sculpture has been exposed in the Emiel Veranneman Gallery Brussels in 1972.
