Stunning coffeetable-bar designed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform in the late 50s. The table is made in a solid wood frame and part veneer, including an internal magazine tray with ceramic tiles, which can slide from left to right. The tray was made by Belgian ceramist Theo Melens, who can be seen as an important artist in Belgian ceramics. At the world exhibition in 1958, Melens showed his work in three different pavilions. He was inspired by his teachers Olivier Strebelle, Jos Minne , Pierre Caille and Frans Dille. Next to his personal work, Melens designed ceramic figures for Belform from 1957 till 1958, all limited and piece-uniques.
