A one-off coffee table by the Belgian artist Rogier Vandeweghe, produced his own ceramic workshop located in Bruges in the mid 50s. The hand-formed tiles are finished with a chromium red glaze. The firing of this specific color required a very precise temperature as over-heating would turn the glaze to black. The table has a nice wooden frame and four 4 black metal legs. In the early 60s, Vandeweghe has moved his workspace to Beernem and renamed it Amphora. Together with his wife and ceramic painter Myranna Pyck, they produced ceramic vases , tiles and tables with strong colors and different types of glazing.
