Decorative ceramic Perignem plate 1960s

Decorative ceramic Perignem plate 1960s

The Perignem ceramics workshop (meaning by fire) in Beernem, Belgium was the basis of the modern Flemish ceramics that flourished in the 50s and 60s. The studio was founded by ceramic artists Rogier and Laurent Vandeweghe. Many visual artists contributed to the creation of the Perignem collection or had their work finished and baked, such as Yves Rhayé and Octave Landuyt. This Plate dates from the sixties and has an enameled figurative drawing. A beautiful combination of strong colors and different types of glazing. Signed Perignem on the back.
