Floor lamp designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta for Artemide, 1980s. In his early years as an architect he designed numerous remarkable buildings, such as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in San Francisco and the Cathedral of Evry near Paris. Botta was consecutively influenced by Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn and Carlo Scarpa. His work emphasize craftsmanship and geometric shapes. These shapes come often back in his designs such as this floor lamp. The black base is made of cast iron, the powder coated shaft is black and white striped. Two curved perforated diffusers can be pivoted to create endless variation of light partition. The lamp contains in excellent condition.
