Christophe Gevers Chairs for De Coene

Very exclusive set of 4 chairs designed by Christophe Gevers. This set is part of the “Saphir” collection that was produced by De Coene in 1962. Philippe Neerman, project manager for De Coene, explained later that these new luxury modern furniture where not well enough promoted to succeed for a big sale. He mentioned that only 3 sets where produced for the De Coene showrooms in Brussels, Kortrijk and Liege. In 2006 De Coene organized a retrospective in Kortrijk, looking for these exclusive pieces of the Saphir collection, they even appealed on the media to be able to find them.
