An architectural piece of timeless design that evokes 1960s influences, yet equally speaks of Charlotte Perriand's universe. The Japanese Bench by furniture maker Alexandre Lowie and vintage dealer Lenz Vermeulen is all pure lines and elegant woodwork, combined in a design to which there's simply nothing to add. That simplicity applies to the choice of materials as well. This bench is made by hand from noble oak and finished with boiled linseed oil, which accounts for its honeyed hues. The stern pattern of repetitive slats is underlined by an inlay in black Italian slate, which in turn is counterbalanced by the volume and speckled texture of the cushions.
