Jules Wabbes is one of the most important Belgian furniture designers from the post-war period. He is best known for his office furniture where he decorated office spaces with such as Glaverbel, Royal Belge and Foncolin, but he also made lamps, school furniture, and complete private interiors. His work is durable and subdued and is characterized by sensual use of materials. This Wenge was designed or Mobilier Universel in 1959. The table top is made of solid strips of wenge and rests on a steel base. The table stands in a good original condition.
