Belgian artist Elisabeth-Marie De Wee is an impressive sculptor from the midcentury. Her work can be found mostly local in her hometown Brussels. When walking the city, you can discover her work in the street. Such as the 30m high geometric relief sculpture she designed for the Vesalius building in the center of Brussels. I was able to find a work of her from the 70s, made in concrete and white marble. The sculpture represents an elegant shape that literally plays with light. When looking at it from different angles, the concrete absorbes the sunlight and gets a soft look. The sculpture is signed and dated E. De Wee 1970.
