Georges Pelletier Ceramic Table Lamp

Belgian sculptor Georges Pelletier studied at the National School of Arts and Crafts in Paris, where he specializes in ceramics. During his studies he also worked in the Atelier of ceramist Claude Pantzer, in the Accolay Pottery atelier and the La Roue De Vallauris workshop. In 1961 he opened his own studio in Paris, where he created his first unique pieces. Until 1973 he will produce many lighting for House Bobois. After he decided to set up his workshop in Cannes, where he is still active and is working today. An internationally renowned artist, his work is showcased in many galleries and exhibitions. This Table lamp dates from the 1960s and shows the refined craftsmanship this lamp is made by. The Brown incised and hand painted ceramic base has an extra dimensional impression due the ceramic pears that float into the base. The shade is made out of a wool and linen fabric. The lamp stands in a good, original condition.
