The Accordo coffee table was designed by Charlotte Perriand on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition of her works held at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 1985. Originally intended as a one off design, this coffee table was one of her last works. The table represents Perriands eye for characteristic furniture with Japanese influences. The ellipse shaped tabletop is supported by four elliptic legs. The table is fully made out of black lacquered mat wood. When presenting her work, Perriand used to create set designs, (re)creations of interiors or homes. Italian furniture producer Cassina helped her rebuild the concept homes - which Perriand always tore down after the exhibitions and which were hardly ever realized in real life. Since 1964, Cassina is the only furniture company entitled to market Perriand furniture - some thirty models in total. This table stands in a good condition with minor traces of use. It is signed and numbered on the back.
