This rare and unique desk-dressing table with luggage rack was designed by Florence Knoll in the early fifties for Knoll associates. It is a rare and unique find that I have never seen passing online or on an auction. The only information I did find was in the original catalog of Knoll and in the book Modern Furnishings for the home by William J Hennessy. This very well preserved furniture shows well the style of Florence Knoll, who had studied architecture under Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Eliel Saarinen before joining her husband in the company. The furniture has a hidden desk and vanity area. Each upper drawer can flip open. Behind the right drawer you can find a writing desk. It has compartiments for desk supplies and paper. Behind the left drawer you can find a luggage rack which also can be used as a small bench or for carrying decorative objects. The cabinet can be used as a room divider as well. It comes from the original owner, who took very well care of it, stands in a very good and original condition.
