Pair of EA178 swiveling armchairs by Charles and Ray Eames, produced by Vitra, under license of Herman Miller. Each chair has a dark brown fiberglass shell that is upholstered with an original orange fabric. Introduced in 1971, the Eames Office developed a new upholstery technique for this new sculptural shape. It has formed-in-place foam filling. The fabric is cut and sewn to size and then vacuum-drawn into a mold. The shell stands on a 4-legged base that is made of fully aluminum. The chairs are in a very good, clean and original condition. Labeled Vitra - Herman Miller international collection at the bottom. The chairs are no longer in production, and very hard to find. Especially in this very good condition. Seat height: 46 cm
Width : 64 cm / 25.2 inch
Depth : 74 cm / 29.13 inch
Height : 83 cm / 32.68 inch
