Jean Batenburg Cabinet with patterned doors 1960s

Brutalist cabinet designed by Jean Batenburg for MI, Belgium. The cabinet was designed in 1969 and only produced for a few years. Some dealers do sell this as a product from De Coene, although they cannot provide any documentation. Nevertheless these sideboards are decorative and desirable, built with craftsmanship and that means quality. The cabinet immediately captures attention with its optical art patterned doors that offer a striking visual depth. Victor Vasarely would have loved it. The doors are locked by a chromed key, inside there is plenty of storage space. The cabinet has a wonderful right patina.
