Carlo Nason is a key figure in Italian design, known for combining traditional Murano glassmaking with modern forms. Born into one of Murano’s oldest glassblowing families, Nason went on to collaborate with important Italian manufacturers, such as Mazzega. He worked closely with this company creating some of his most iconic lighting designs.
This pendant lamp, designed in the 1960s for Mazzega, is made of two half-oval glass panels with a textured, ice-like surface. The overlapping panels form a sculptural shape that gently diffuses the light with a warm glow. The glass panels are hold together with 4 metal bolts. The lamp stand is a very good condition, no chips or cracks noticed.
