This rare “Atollo” table lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977 for Oluce, is a true icon of Italian modern design. Awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979, the Atollo is celebrated worldwide for its sculptural geometry and perfect balance between function and form.
This example is an original first edition, model 233, produced in 1977. What makes it particularly special is the rust-brown coated aluminum finish an experimental surface treatment that Oluce discontinued shortly after production due to its complex and inconsistent results. As a result, only a very small number were ever made, making this version especially rare and desirable among collectors.
The lamp has developed a beautiful, naturally aged patina, with light wear and small imperfections that add authenticity and depth to its appearance. It remains in fully original condition, including the dimmable switch and plug.
The Atollo is more than just a lamp it’s a sculptural centerpiece that provides warm, atmospheric light and timeless elegance. A unique opportunity to acquire an early and exceptionally rare edition of one of the most important designs of the 20th century.
