Rare Organic Brutalist Oak Coffee Table 1970s

A rare Dutch organic brutalist coffee table in solid oak, manufactured in the Netherlands circa 1970s
This sculptural low table features a thick circular top resting on three monumental cylindrical legs, subtly integrated into the tabletop edge. The asymmetrical triangular composition gives the piece a remarkable architectural balance while maintaining a calm and minimal appearance.

Strongly reminiscent of the work of Pierre Chapo and carrying subtle references to the organic modernism of Charlotte Perriand, the table embodies the warm materiality and sculptural simplicity associated with European post-war design.

Over the past twenty years, only managed to find three examples of this model, suggesting a highly limited production. Although the exact maker remains unidentified, the exceptional proportions, solid oak construction, and refined detailing indicate production by a skilled workshop rather than industrial manufacture.

The softly rounded transitions between the thick tabletop and the massive cylindrical legs create a powerful visual rhythm, giving the table an almost architectural presence. The expressive oak grain and warm patina further enhance its organic character.

An exceptional collectible piece suited for interiors focused on French modernism, organic brutalism, wabi-sabi minimalism, or high-end European vintage design.

Condition: very good vintage condition with minor wear and patina consistent with age and use.
