Jules Wabbes originally designed the Louise chair for the Brussels restaurant Drugstore Louise on the Avenue Louise, which opened in 1963. The chair became a true design classic and is known for the timeless, warm style that is typical of Wabbes’ work.
Bulo brought the Louise chair back to the market as the first official reissue, under licence from Jules Wabbes. The collaboration started in 2009. This gave the original design a new life and made Wabbes’ craftsmanship accessible to a new generation. This fabric version dates from 2013. During this period, Bulo also worked with fashion designer Véronique Branquinho, who advised on colours and materials for new and existing furniture collections.
This set of six chairs is in very good condition. The chairs have a warm, solid wooden frame, a comfortable seat and backrest, and are upholstered in a warm orange and light brown fabric. A set with a special Belgian design story.
